no. 96, no. 97, no. 98 and no. 99 ~ Hand Painted Macrame Keychains ~

Four keychains today. I made them by painting the wooden flats with acrylics,  lightly varnishing them, knotting them on nylon cords and adding some complimentary beads.

We have been having crazy tropical weather here in Taiwan and I grabbed the first opportunity to take photos. You can see the raindrops on the palm tree.

no. 94 and no. 95 ~ Macrame Owl Keychains ~

Two owl keychains today. They are so fun to make!

Wood beads and raw rope knotted with the lark’s head, square and the overhand knots.

Wood beads and raw rope knotted with the lark’s head, square, sennit and the overhand knots.

… and a very short video of my son trying to take a picture of me knotting at the home school table. It was so funny I had to share.

no. 92 and no. 93 ~ Knotted Phone Charms ~

A dragonfly phone charm knotted in black nylon cord with the picot and square knots. I used three types of beads, wood, silver and stone.

A little boy phone charm knotted in black nylon cord with the square knot and a variety of jade beads.

no. 90 and no. 91 ~ Beaded Macrame Bracelets ~

I’ll be doing more posts like this, with a couple of knotted pieces per post. My family and I are moving to Europe and I am busy packing and cleaning and purging stuff. I still get to make jewelry everyday, just don’t have enough time to spend on the computer.:)

These pictures were taken on a palm tree leaf. I was packing some books and heard it fall outside the window. I went out and it looked so nice, I had to use it!

Raw amber and wood beads knotted in yellow waxed cord using the square knot with a buttonhole closure.

Black wood beads on white waxed cord knotted using the half knot sennit with a buttonhole closure.

no. 89 ~ Macrame Bracelet in Waxed Cord ~

Today, I made a bracelet with some brown, waxed cord that I found in my husband’s studio. I’m not sure if it was meant for macrame, but it was easy to work with and held the double half hitch knots well. I gave it a buttonhole closure.

no. 88 ~ Knotted Necklace with Obsidian ~

I knotted this necklace in black nylon cord, beads of onyx and an obsidian tear drop pendant. I used the crown sinnet and gave it an adjustable pull closure. I worked on it for the past few days while doing other projects.

Click on the photo to see it in detail. :)

no. 86 ~ Wood Butterfly Bracelet ~

I felt like making something a bit delicate, so I got my thin nylon cord and small wood beads to make this bracelet. I used the square and butterfly knots and gave it an adjustable pull closure.

no. 85 ~ Knotted Jade Bracelet ~

Today, I used brown nylon cord and beautiful jade cylinders. I knotted them with the square knot and gave it an adjustable pull closure.

no. 84 ~ Knotted Wave in Browns ~

Another wave made with the forward knot, but this time in raw, brown rope, wood beads and a buttonhole closure.

A bright bloom form an orchid tree near the house. They get quite big. Almost the size of a hand.
